Students in Crawley can plan their next steps with the help of a careers fair at K2 Crawley Leisure Centre in September.

Crawley Borough Council, in partnership with National Careers Service, The Careers and Enterprise Company, SLN:COP and Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, has organised an exciting event for pupils and job seekers in Crawley to attend and plan their next steps towards an exciting future.

Sponsored by Ashcroft Care Services, and West Sussex County Council, students from local schools will have exclusive access to more than 80 exhibitors from a range of universities, community groups, businesses and training providers on Tuesday 25 September from 10am until 4pm.

From 4-6pm, the event will be open to parents, college students and the general public who are either looking for work or for a career change.

Professionals will be there to offer attendees advice, support and guidance in navigating the world of work or discuss the pathways into further education.

Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development, Councillor Peter Smith, said: “This is a fantastic event with lots of opportunities for students and job seekers to speak to businesses, universities and other professionals, first-hand, to ask a range of questions and get ahead with job, university and college applications.

“With a huge range of exhibitors to visit, there will be something for everyone.”

HR Director at Ashcroft Care Services Ltd, Charlotte Cook, said: “We are really proud to be sponsoring this event. It is something we have not tried before - we have work experience opportunities and Support Worker vacancies in the local area so will also be exhibiting at this event. We really look forward to meeting potential candidates and networking with local schools and colleges on the day.  We are very lucky to have our Positive Behavioural Manager, Dudley Burrell, deliver a session at the event about the stigmas of working in care, which I am sure will be very thought provoking and not to be missed."

For local residents, the council’s own Employ Crawley Team will be there from 4pm, offering long-term support for those looking for work or training opportunities.
