Employ Crawley Takeover 19-26 February 2018

This week, the Employ Crawley Hub will be taken over by some of our partners who will be offering their help and advice on all things employment and training.

From Monday to Thursday, partners will be based at the Hub in Crawley Library from 10am until 3pm and on Friday, the Hub at Broadfield Library from 10am until 1pm.

Monday 19 February - get some careers advice and perfect your CV with help from the National Careers Service.

Employ Crawley to host first jobs fair

Employ Crawley is holding their first jobs fair to promote live job vacancies and provide opportunities for job seekers to meet face to face with local employers.

The event is open to all ages and takes place in Crawley Library from 10.30am until 4.30pm on 5 March.

Come along and meet with a wide range of local employers from various industries including retail, hospitality, construction, finance, social care and airport services.

Manor Royal Business District Delivers Significant Jobs and Business Growth

A new study reveals the growing importance of Manor Royal and its impact in terms of jobs, business and its contribution to the economy.

The Economic Impact Study, jointly commissioned by the Manor Royal BID and Crawley Borough Council, was conducted by leading economic and regeneration consultants, Lichfields, to assess how well the Business District is performing and what it needs to do to remain competitive.

Green light for next stage of town centre regeneration

Delivery of the Crawley Growth Programme is progressing with another key project given the green light by Crawley Borough Council’s Planning Committee on Monday 29 January.

The plans, which were developed following extensive public consultation earlier this year, will see the high quality improvements recently made in Queens Square extended along Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate.

Council supports Manor Royal BID renewal

Crawley Borough Council is supporting the renewal of Manor Royal’s Business Improvement District (BID) for another five years.

The Manor Royal Business District is a fundamental part of Crawley’s business and employment and to West Sussex as a whole, contributing 25 per cent of the county’s economic output.

The council’s Cabinet agreed to the BID’s proposal to support the renewal and to vote in favour in the ballot at its meeting on 10 January 2018.

Introduced in 2013, the BID is an independent legal body which is responsible for the area of Manor Royal.

Have your say on Crawley’s new place branding

Residents are being asked for their input into Crawley’s new place branding; a unique, visual brand owned by all stakeholders to help promote a sense of place and character in the town centre.

The Town Centre Partnership, together with Crawley Borough Council, commissioned the creation and design of the brand in 2016 which was agreed in February 2017. It’s currently being implemented following a great deal of research and consultation and is designed to inspire and attract residents, visitors and businesses, offering visual identification and place making.

Updated Town Centre Regeneration Programme- open for comments

The Town Centre Regeneration Programme outlines ambitious plans to regenerate the area which has recently been rated the 23rd hottest retail opportunity and third best premium retail opportunity in the UK by researchers, CACI.

Success for Employ Crawley

Two months on from the launch of Employ Crawley, local residents are signing up to boost their careers. Created by Crawley Borough Council in partnership with West Sussex County Council, Employ Crawley is a service that aims to support people looking for work or into higher skilled, higher paid employment. Since it opened at the beginning of October, more than 70 local people have engaged with the service, with a percentage of those going on to attend interviews and receive job offers.
