Queens Square Development gets green light

Major improvement plans for Queens Square have been approved.

Crawley Borough Council and West Sussex County Council are investing £3m into revitalising the area, with work starting early next year and expected to be completed by autumn 2016.

The scheme will redefine Queens Square as the heart of the town centre, creating a high quality, inviting, distinctive and enjoyable public space encouraging more people to visit, stay and make use of the area.

Market gets new location in a bid to increase customers

The town’s High Street market will be moved to The Broadway and Haslett Avenue West in the autumn with the aim of increasing footfall and sales for traders and retailers.

The current High Street market, which operates on Fridays and Saturdays, will move to its new home in October, where it’s set to draw in more customers benefiting market traders and Broadway retailers.

Big UK brands set to help Crawley town centre thrive

Brands like Marks & Spencer, Boots and the Co-operative Group will offer support for town centre regeneration through Business in the Community’s Healthy High Streets programme.

Crawley was announced as one of just 34 UK towns to benefit from a bespoke plan this year, aiming to create a prosperous future for the town centre. Crawley is now one of 67 chosen over the last two years, following an application developed by Boots and the council and enthusiastically endorsed by the Town Centre Partnership.
