British Airways Run Gatwick Event Sunday 13 May 2018

The inaugural British Airways Run Gatwick will take place in Crawley on Sunday 13 May 2018 and everyone is invited to take part! 

The event comprises of the International Half Marathon, 5k/Corporate 5k and Family Run. Set over fully closed roads, taking you through park, town and beautiful West Sussex countryside around Gatwick Airport, starting and finishing in Crawley's Southgate Park.

Giving voice to high-tech signs to help visually-impaired passengers

Visually-impaired bus passengers can now get the full benefit from new, recently-installed Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) displays, thanks to the provision of audio key fobs.

A total of £900,000 from the Crawley Growth Programme has been used to replace older displays which had no audio.

An extra 66 RTPI displays have also been installed at bus stops in Crawley, bringing the total in the town with audio capability to 134.

Crawley - the best place to move for job prospects

According to a recent report from Nomis at the Office for National Statistics, Crawley has the highest rate of employment in the UK at 89.1%.

Citing Gatwick one of the reasons for its success, fellow south east hot spots include Dartford (87.6%), Basingstoke (87.2% and Ashford (86.9%).

Town Centre Signage: thank you for your feedback

Crawley residents were invited to share their feedback on proposals for the new town centre signage and specifically the icons and images that will appear on the signs. The designs follow the town's new place branding which was created after a period of consultation with key stakeholders, the Town Centre Partnership, together with Crawley Borough Council, in February 2017.

The branding celebrates Crawley’s new town history while adding a colourful and modern twist with the use of iconography reflecting landmarks, places of interest, shopping and eating etc.

Employ Crawley Takeover 19-26 February 2018

This week, the Employ Crawley Hub will be taken over by some of our partners who will be offering their help and advice on all things employment and training.

From Monday to Thursday, partners will be based at the Hub in Crawley Library from 10am until 3pm and on Friday, the Hub at Broadfield Library from 10am until 1pm.

Employ Crawley to host first jobs fair

Employ Crawley is holding their first jobs fair to promote live job vacancies and provide opportunities for job seekers to meet face to face with local employers.

The event is open to all ages and takes place in Crawley Library from 10.30am until 4.30pm on 5 March.

Come along and meet with a wide range of local employers from various industries including retail, hospitality, construction, finance, social care and airport services.

Green light for next stage of town centre regeneration

Delivery of the Crawley Growth Programme is progressing with another key project given the green light by Crawley Borough Council’s Planning Committee on Monday 29 January.

The plans, which were developed following extensive public consultation earlier this year, will see the high quality improvements recently made in Queens Square extended along Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate.
