Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate - project update

What’s been happening?

Paving along Queensway and The Pavement is near completion and the area is open to the public, including in front of the retailers.

Groundworks have been completed outside of Marks and Spencer and the paving work is almost complete. Access is still available in this area in a reduced capacity however due to the ongoing works,

New trees have been planted Queensway, along with new street furniture throughout Queensway and The Pavement.

Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate – project update

What’s been happening?

Work on installing the paving along the middle section of Queensway has been completed and the area has been cleaned, sealed and reopened to pedestrian access. Installation of paving along The Pavement has progressed steadily with anticipation of completing the works in two weeks.

Show us what 'Your Crawley' is

Crawley Borough Council, in partnership with Blakedown Landscapes is launching a fun competition for residents.

Called ‘Your Crawley’, the council is looking for local residents to capture something about the town centre that they love and enjoy, either in the past or present or what they hope to see in the future.

The competition is for all ages and abilities and entrants can send in drawings or photographs. Your artwork which can be sent in via;

Queensway, The Pavement & Kingsate - Project Update 26 February 2019

What’s been happening?

Development of the area is progressing well, with the completion of vegetation clearance across the entire site.

Drainage and duct installation has taken place and installation of the new granite paving and lighting columns is currently underway along Queensway.

Work has also begun on The Pavement, with the removal of the phone kiosk, advertisement board and old paving. Access is still available in this area, however due to the works, in a reduced capacity.

Blakedown Landscapes started on site on Monday 14 January, putting up fencing, securing the safety of the site, construction and storage areas.

Business as usual when Queensway regeneration gets underway

All businesses located along Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate will remain open once the regeneration of the area begins next week.

Blakedown Landscapes; developer of the award-winning Queens Square, will begin work on-site next Monday (14 January), transforming the area into an attractive, vibrant and enjoyable space for residents and visitors.

£2.2m Queensway regeneration project moves to next stage

Major improvements to Queensway and The Pavement have moved a step closer with contractors now able to bid for the works.

The £2.2m scheme, which will extend Queens Square’s improvements along Queensway and The Pavement, led by Crawley Borough Council is funded by Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council, and the Local Growth Fund through Coast to Capital Enterprise Partnership as part of the Crawley Growth Programme.
